Financial support

Financial support for students resident in England, Wales and Northern Ireland
The services available depend on where you live. You can apply for a grant towards your fees for undergraduate courses (Levels 1 to 3) depending on certain eligibility criteria.
Help with paying study expenses
A course expenditure grant is available for books, equipment, childcare and so on. You may be eligible for up to £250; the criteria for an award are the same as for the course fee grant and you will automatically be assessed when you apply for a course fee grant.

You can request (or download) further details of all financial support and the relevant application forms when you apply for a course, or contact us on +44 (0) 1908 653411 or email general enquiries

Help for students who get into financial difficulty during their course
If you find that you have higher than expected costs or you face serious financial problems during your course you could get help from the Access to Learning Fund. Application for grant form (PDF)

The University also has a Student Assistance Fund, money that has been raised by the trustees of The Open University Foundation through charitable donations.

Please contact us on +44 (0) 1908 653411 or email general-enquiries for further information and advice.
