First Class System

The system of forums is quite complicated, as you may have seen if you’ve tried to wade through the layers! In an attempt to clarify things a bit, there is a “SiteMap” of the system, which may make using it a little clearer.

Accessing the Branch Conference

You can get to the Branch Conference by going to Open University > Regions > R06 > O U S A East of England > O U S A Br Suffolk.

Don't forget the East of England website, which is being built up — there is already a lot of information on the site, and more will be added soon.

Other conferences

As well as the O U S A branch conferences, there are lots of other conferences. Some courses have online conferences, either run by the course team, or study conferences which are usually run by students (though tutors and Course Team members often ‘drop in’). These conferences are invaluable for study support, especially if you have difficulty getting to tutorials.

In addition, there are a huge number of ‘special interest’ conferences — anything from O U S A 24 to Alcoholism, from Mediation to Men, from Yoga to Young Students, and all sorts of other interesting topics in between

O U S A Consultation

O U S A is keen to hear from as many students as possible, and there are a number of ways of doing this, apart from attending meetings or being elected. One of the most important is to take part in First Class Conferences such as O U S A Matters or O U S A Online. These can be reached by following this trail on First Class:

Open University > Open University Students Association > O U S A Live >O U S A Matters.

O U S A Online is a sub-conference of O U S A Matters.
